Hope for Maggie

Maggie* used to work at the local hardware store until her 25 yr. old son became very ill requiring her care 24/7.  With no income, Maggie had no way to pay her rent or buy food.  Her case worker called VIA to discuss options.  Turns out that Maggie lives one block away from Hope Fellowship CRC.

We continue to stay connected to Rowan Care Facility despite the face to face visiting restrictions. We are thankful that in December, VIA partnered with the deacons from two churches to purchase three Apple iPads for their residents.

Providence Brings Brothers Together

Ted called Volunteers In Action in July of 2019.  His eyesight was deteriorating and he needed help reading his mail and could use an occasional ride to appointments. Ted also mentioned that living in his assisted care facility limits his conversational topics.  His life lacked hope and joy in its present state.  He wondered how he would ever get through it.

Two Huge Pine Trees Gone!

Sheila's home lost two huge pine trees with the June Derecho wind storm.  There was no way she could afford the clean- up nor did she have the resources to begin removing the debris from her yard.  Neighbors complained.  The City of Aurora Cod Enforcement called Volunteer in Action to see if there was any way VIA could offer assistance.
