Celebration of Friendship

On Saturday, May 6, many of our VIA volunteers and their VIA friends gathered at Hope Fellowship Church to enjoy a lunch catered by Smokehouse Grill.  The theme of our celebration was friendship.  VIA currently has over 50 volunteers engaged in long term relational volunteering with people in our community who need a friend and a helping hand.

While we enjoyed a mouth watering feast of smoked pork and chicken, along with delicious sides, Kevin and Lynn Roberts provided us with beautiful music to listen to as we chatted with other volunteers and their friends.

We ended our time together by singing a few fun songs together, including Country Roads and Let the Circle be Unbroken.  One volunteer said, “What great song choices for the singalong! It was so fun to sing together!”  We are grateful to Kevin and Lynn Roberts, and to Smokehouse Grill for making our luncheon such a great event.  We are thankful to Hope Fellowship for the use of their space. Thank you to all the volunteers and their friends for joining us!

Are you interested in volunteering in a long term friendship?  There are so many isolated and lonely senior and disabled neighbors in our communities.  Call us at 303-713-9144 and get connected to someone who needs a friend!
